Nanodevice at MOMA

Quantum of Thermal Conductance Sample

We are thrilled to have a scanning electron micrograph of one of our devices to appear in a new exhibit at MOMA in New York City. The exhibit is called "Design and the Elastic Mind" and has been organized by Paola Antonelli, Curator, and Patricia Juncosa Vecchierini, Curatorial Assistant, Department of Architecture and Design. The exhibit will run from February 24th to May 12, 2008.

The SEM pic is of the device which demonstrated the quantum limit for energy flow through discrete channels, the quantum of thermal conductance (Nature 2000.) This experiment was performed while Keith was a postdoc at Caltech and was a collaboration between Keith Schwab, Prof. Micheal Roukes, John Worlock, and Erik Henriksen.
