7.5 mK !!
Ultra-low temperatures are essential to our research in quantum mechanical behavior nano-mechanical systems. In March of 2006 we placed an order to Oxford Instruments for HA 400 dilution refrigerator system with a 9 Tesla magent loaded into an very low boil-off cryostat. This refrigerator arrived in April 2007 and we have spent the past months installing this system. The system worked spectacularly well and roared down to 7.5mK. Next stop...quantum ground state of a mechanical system.....
